Strawberry Jello Cake
Strawberry Jello Cake is a great cool treat on a hot summer day. It can be changed up and made with any jello and fruit combinations preferred, but I always go back to the strawberry flavor. It's also quite simple to make and a refreshing delight to eat and has been loved by friends and family for many years.
Ingredients
1 box white cake mix and ingredients listed on box to make it.
1 box strawberry jello mix (or whatever flavor you would prefer)
I cup of water
Cool Whip to ice the cake
Fresh sliced strawberries (or whatever fruit to match jello used)
Directions
- Mix cake as directed on box and bake as directed. Allow to cool.
- Boil water and add jello. Stir until completely dissolved.
- Poke holes into cake with a fork (this allows for a nice saturation) and carefully pour jello mixture evenly over cake.
- Refrigerate cake for at least three hours.
- Once cake is set, generously frost with Cool Whip and top with fresh fruit.
- Refrigerate for at least another hour before serving. Be sure to keep cake stored in fridge and out of heat and direct sunlight.
