Chocolate Chip Cookies

This is the cookies recipe that I've used from years and it's the favorite with my husband and son. I use the recipe that is printed on the back of the Chef's Select  chocolate chips. After trying various other recipes, this is the one everyone is happy with.

Ingredients
1 cup softened butter
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 1/4 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
12 oz chocolate chips

Directions
Preheat oven to 375° F and prepare a cookie sheet with parchment paper or non-stick foil.
  • Cream together butter, sugars, and vanilla until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs.
  • Sift together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add flour mixture to creamed butter and mix until well blended.
  • Fold in chocolate chips.
  • Using a cookie scoop or spoon, place cookies on baking sheet two inches apart and bake for about 10 minutes each or until slightly browned.
  • Allow cookies to cool for a minute before transferring them to cooling rack to finish cooling.
*** My tip: if you like you cookies to stay soft like we do, store them with a slice of bread, but make sure to change it out every two days. The moisture from the bread will help your cookies to stay soft but dries out itself quite quickly, thus the need to frequently change it out. ***
